PurePuff is a quit-smoking companion built local-first: your personal recovery data lives on your device, not on a server. This policy explains exactly what that means and the few things that are the exception.
Your streak, money saved, health recovery timeline, craving log, slip (relapse) history, and habit profile (how much you smoked, your triggers, your motivation) are stored only in a local database on your device. None of it is uploaded, backed up to a server, or visible to anyone else — including PurePuff. There is no account and no login, so there is nothing tied to your identity to begin with. Uninstalling the app, or using "Delete my data" in Settings, removes it for good.
| Data | Linked to you | Used for |
|---|---|---|
| Product interactions (Firebase Analytics) | No | Understanding which features are used, anonymously |
| First name (optional) | No | Shown only if you opt in to the Wall of Fame or link a sponsor |
| Messages you send a linked sponsor | No | Delivering that message to the person you linked |
That's the complete list. Your money saved, health data, cravings, and slip history are never part of this — they stay on-device, as described above.
The Wall of Fame is entirely opt-in. If you join it, only your first name, your current streak length, and — if you choose to add one — a country flag are shown publicly. No money, health, or craving data is ever part of it. Turning it off, or deleting your data, removes your entry.
If you link a sponsor, messages between you are a private exchange between the two linked accounts — not a public feed, and not read or moderated by PurePuff. Your sponsor never sees your money or health data, only your progress (streak) and what you choose to write to them.
PurePuff shows no ads, uses no advertising identifier (IDFA), and does not share data with any ad network or data broker. Nothing about your use of PurePuff is cross-referenced with your activity in any other app.
Firebase (Google) provides anonymous analytics and hosts the Wall of Fame and sponsor messages described above. Google's handling of that infrastructure is governed by Google's own privacy policy. No other third party receives any data from PurePuff.
PurePuff does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app addresses smoking cessation and is intended for people old enough to be quitting smoking or vaping.
You can use PurePuff fully anonymously and skip every optional feature above. Settings → "Delete my data" permanently erases everything stored about you, on-device and in the Wall of Fame / sponsor link if you had joined either.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same URL with a new "Last updated" date.
